And so, I Blog!!

Soooo, everybody is blogging except for Moi? Is this the newest form of writing? Are we headed towards the reality of the movie "Fahrenheit 451 "? What a tragedy that would be!! I have tried Twitter~for about 48 hours ,not for me at all! I do Facebook, but also find it to be truly surfacy and a bit of a waste of my time. I like to write, not twit or mindlessly comment. So, I guess I will. :) Here I will share on the most precious thing in my life, my recovery and my spiritual journey. If my only audience is that of the ether, that will be good enough ... for I write not to be read, but because I am called to write!!! And so, I blog!!
I will begin with the daily readings from the book:

A Grateful Heart ~ 365 ways to give thanks at mealtime edited by MJ Ryan
The Winter Prayers began on the first day of winter ~ so I am begining there. The winter prayers begin with this thought:
A thankful soul is thankful under all circumstances, a complaining soul complains even if he lives in paradise. -BAHA'U'LLAH

I hope to be in harmony

The creative energy of Heaven
   Is our paternal source.
The receptive energy of Earth
   Is our maternal source.
All people are the offspring
   Of the same universal Origin.
Within my true nature
   Are the same virtues
As those of the inspired sages …
I have love for all people
Who are in their “winter” years
And wish them to live enjoyably.
I treat all young ones kindly
And help them, to have a good life.
The sick and needy are also
   My brothers and sisters
   So I protect and shelter
   Them under my wings.
I assist the talented
And do not waste my own talents …
By knowing the principles of change
    And always doing my best,
I hope to be in harmony
With the enduring Will of the universe.
                -   From Workbook for Spiritual Development
                            Of all people.  P.  161-162

This lovely teaching reflects one of the greatest gifts I have received
through the 12 step spirituality.  Those simple words ... "love and tolerance
is our code"  and   ...

"Though we did not like their symptoms and the way these disturbed us, they, like ourselves, were sick too. We asked God to help us show them the same tolerance, pity, and patience that we would cheerfully grant a sick friend. When a person offended we said to ourselves, "This is a sick man. How can I be helpful to him? God save me from being angry. Thy will be done."
We avoid retaliation or argument. We wouldn't treat sick people that way. If we do, we destroy our chance of being helpful. We cannot be helpful to all people, but at least God will show us how to take a kindly and tolerant view of each and every one."  AABB p. 67

This was my invitation to live in and through "Oneness" !  This was my first experience of Namaste'.  This made all the difference for me in growing towards living in harmony with all.
A very wise woman often told me that there are only two things happening at any  time .. a person is either loving or looking for love.  So, the person who feels so far removed from real love can be so seemingly broken as they look for love in all the wrong places.  No matter what that person does or does not do, this reality calls out compassion rather than judgement.     But for the grace of God go any of us ....

So, as the offspring of the creative energy of heaven and the receptive energy  of earth ...
we are born of love and we are all siblings on this journey of life!

May we journey together in peace and unity ... each and every ONE!!!

In-joy this day!!!   Cate
